6. Setting BIOS

This chapter describes usage of the BIOS SETUP Utility which allows you to set various
environmental conditions on ShieldPRO including power management.

6.1.

BIOS SETUP Utility

The BIOS SETUP Utility is intended for the control of certain ShieldPRO settings.

Using the BIOS SETUP Utility, you can configure various settings for security, device, power saving
and other features.

6.1.1.

Settings on BIOS SETUP Utility

You can perform the following operations on the BIOS SETUP Utility:

Set the current date and time

Select language used on the BIOS SETUP Utility

Set hardware environment

Set security

Set power management

Set boot sequence of ShieldPRO

Any settings changed on the BIOS SETUP Utility will be effective after rebooting.

If both supervisor and user passwords are set, changes cannot be made on some items on the BIOS
SETUP Utility when logged in with the user password.

If some settings are incorrect on the BIOS SETUP Utility, ShieldPRO may not reboot. If this occurs, restart
the BIOS SETUP Utility and return them to the factory defaults.

6.1.2.

Running/Exiting BIOS SETUP Utility

6.1.2.1.

Starting

The following message appears on the BIOS start screen after the power of ShieldPRO is turned
on. Press

F2

to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.

Press <F2> to SETUP or Press <F12> to Network boot.

The dialog box shown below appears.
