Note:
Jumpers on the IDE device must be
set to the master or slave device (see the
documentation that comes with the device).

IDE Controller
This option configures the system’s integrated IDE
controller. Select from “Primary,” “Secondary,” “Both,”
or “Disabled.”

Hard Disk Pre-Delay
This option sets the time delay to allow the hard drive to
spin up. The choices in seconds are “3,” “6,” “9,” “12,”
“15,” “21,” and “30.”
These entries let you check or change the following hard
drive parameters. They are not available if “Auto” is selected.

Type
This field lets you select the drive type. Available options
include “User,” “Auto,” “CD-ROM,” “ATAPI
Removable,” or “None.”

Maximum Capacity
This field displays the maximum capacity of your hard
drive in megabytes.

Multi Sector Transfers
This option determines the number of sectors per block for
multiple sector transfers. You cannot access this option if
the configuration type is set to “Auto.” If necessary, check
the specification for your hard drive to determine the best
setting for optimum drive performance. Transfer options
follow.
