Installing Options 5-23

Power cable connectors

A – Small Power Cable Connector
B – Large Power Cable Connector

Cabling Storage Devices

All storage devices require a power and signal cable
connection. Devices shipped with the system are already
connected.

Procedures are provided on the following devices:

IDE device

−

IDE hard drive, CD-ROM drive, or Zip

drive

accessible 5 1/4-inch device

−

tape backup unit.

Cabling an IDE Device

The following procedure explains IDE device cabling.

Connect the signal cable connector to the matching pins
on the device.

Take care to prevent bending drive connector pins.
