Removing the System Board

CMOS Battery Removal
Remove the 3-volt lithium battery from the system board as follows.
1.
If possible, enter the BIOS Setup utility and record the settings (see Chapter 2, “Setup and
Configuration”). Removing the battery removes any customized settings in BIOS Setup.
2.
Close all applications, shut down the operating system, turn off system power, and unplug
the AC power adapter and power cord from the power source and the back of the system.
3.
Turn off and disconnect all peripherals.
4.
Remove the system board (see the previous section, “System Board Removal”).
5.
Locate the CMOS battery on the front side of the system board.
