LCD Unit Components — Rear

A – System Board (under system board shield)

Base Unit

The base unit contains the following components:

 

Optical drive assembly — located at the front of the base unit. The optical drive assembly
provides a bay for an optical drive (CD-ROM drive or combination DVD-ROM/CD-RW
drive).  

 

Interface board — located at the rear of the base unit. The interface board provides the
optical drive release assembly, LAN connector, two USB ports, and the DC power
connector. Cables connect the interface board to the system board.
