7. The preferred entry point for ac input wiring is through a hole in the primary side of the
transformer cabinet. There is a cable tray wiring interface cover on the primary side to
connect to your cable tray system, as applicable. Temporarily remove the cover to pass the
primary wiring into the transformer cabinet (see Figure 6.1 on page 6-3 ).
8. Unless a primary wiring kit has been provided by Nautel, cabinet punches or hole saws will
be required to cut the entry holes for the conduits. Punch the appropriate size hole in the top
of the transformer's primary wiring entry plate (see Figure 6.1 on page 6-3 ) as follows:
• Use a chassis punch tool (e.g., Greenlee, etc.) to punch the desired size hole in the top of
the ac switch. Make sure the ac input cables will pass safely through the hole.
• Install the cable glands and cable tray connections on the ac switch if desired.
9. Connect the ac switch output Line 1 (T1), Line 2 (T2) and Line 3 (T3) output terminals to
H1
(Line 1),
H2
(Line 2) and
H3
(Line 3) on the bottom input of the power transformer (see
Figure 4.1 on page 4-2 ). Secure using lugs and hardware provided with the transformer or
provide your own lugs that are compatible with a M12 bolt. If using Nautel supplied parts,
torque M12 bolts to 494 in-lbs (55.8 N-m).
10. Connect the ac ground to the transformer’s ”Primary Cable Tray Ground” point (see
Figure 4.3 on page 4-5 ).
11. If purchased from Nautel, install the ac transient surge protection system.
