Operational Testing
62
The SPD-TEST button will automatically reset to DISABLED after 50 minutes from
the time it is first enabled
A single-phase that is TRIPPED by pressing and of the A-PHASE, B-PHASE, or C-
PHASE buttons may be CLOSED by simply pressing the same button again (like a
toggle switch)
When a single-phase is TRIPPED/ OPENED, the myPV ClearSky’s PT voltage
reference is still sensing grid voltage as the PT taps are located on the Utility side of
the MV Breakers
The process described above may be repeated for the remaining phases for full
IEEE testing compliance
At any time a single-phase is OPEN, rotating the Selector Mode Switch to
AUTOMATIC will enable protection logic and force a 3-phase TRIP condition
Commercial Operation
Following testing, take the following steps, once you are ready to place the myPV
ClearSky™ into normal commercial operation.
Commercial Operation Settings:
1. Rotate the Mode Selector Switch to AUTOMATIC (if any phase was OPEN the will
cause a 3-phase TRIP)
2. Press and hold the TARGET RESET button until …
3. … the TRIP Red indicator is no longer illuminated
4. Firmly press the CLOSE button … the MV Breakers should CLOSE
5. The CLOSE button’s BREAKER CLOSED Red indicator should now be illuminated
6. The three (3) individual A-PHASE, B-PHASE, and C-PHASE Red indicators should
now also be illuminated
