Troubleshooting
Follow the on-screen messages to solve problems. If you cannot solve the problem, contact your authorized Mu-
ratec dealer.
• If you detect odd sounds, smoke or odor emitting from your machine, unplug it immediately and contact your
authorized Muratec dealer. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the machine yourself.
• Attempting to repair the machine yourself may void the limited warranty.
Cannot turn on the power
• Check that the power cord is securely connected.
• Turn on the power switch.
Paper jam message does not disappear
Remove jammed paper.

If the message does not disappear, there may still be paper jammed inside. Recheck that all paper has been re-
moved.
Reopen and close the cover indicated on the LCD. This may cause the message to disappear.
Cannot transmit faxes
• Check that the line cable is connected.
“Connect the line cable,” page 52.
• Check the destination fax number.
Image quality problems
• Clean the scanning and recording parts.
“Daily Maintenance,” page 94.
• Use the paper specified in this manual.
“Acceptable paper,” page 28.
Nothing appears on the LCD
• Check that the power is turned on.
• If the energy save light is on, press <Energy Save> to cancel the energy save mode.
An error is displayed
• Follow the on-screen messages to solve the problem.
• If you cannot solve the problem, contact your authorized Muratec dealer.
