INSPECTION/SETUP
ENGINE OIL CHECK
1. To check the engine oil level, place the generator on
secure, level ground with the engine stopped.
2. Remove the dipstick from its holder (Figure 35) and
wipe it clean.

3. Reinsert the dipstick, then remove the dipstick from
its holder. Check the oil level shown on the dipstick
(Figure 36).

4. Verify that the engine oil level is maintained between
the H and L markings on the dipstick as referenced in
A
.
5. If the engine oil level is low (Figure 36
C
), remove the
oil filler cap (Figure 37) and fill to a safe operating level
(max) as indicated by the dipstick (Figure 36
A
).

6. Fill with recommended type oil as listed in Table 10.
Maximum oil capacity is 15.1 gallons (57 liters).

7. When checking the engine oil, be sure to check if the oil
is clean. If the oil is not clean, drain the oil as referenced
in the maintenance section of this manual.
8. Allow enough time for any added oil to make its way
to the oil pan before rechecking.
