Different Types of Incontinence
MyoBravo can be applied with the following types of incontinence.
Stress incontinence means that the group of muscle that belongs to the
closing mechanism of the bladder exit is not fully functionable. When pressure
rises (e.g. through sneezing, coughing, laughing or physical exertion) the loss of
urine will occure even without micturition. The cause is a weakening of the
pelvic muscle which can result from either weakness of the connective tissue,
births or prostats surgery.
Urge incontinence means that the closing mechanism of the bladder and
urethra are mostly functioning. Often it comes to extrude movements of the
bladder, which cannot surpressed through mind power. One speaks of a hyper
active bladder muscle. Micturition is uncontrollable and the pressure of the
bladder increases to the point, that the resistance of the healthy muscular
closing system will be overcome. Possible causes are disorder of the superior
nervous system.
A mixed form of stress and urge incontinence means that the cause lies
with the weakness of the muscular closing system as well as a hyperactive
bladder muscle.
Faecal incontinence means a disorder of the function of the sphinkter anus
externus. A controlled discharge of bowel contents is not possible anymore.
The causes for the functioning disorder of the sphinkter anus externus are
manifold.
Both urine and faecal incontinence are normally treated very effectively
with the help of vaginal or rectal probes. In all cases it is recommended
to visit a doctor.
