Installing SLX 5000 on a Wall
Prerequisites: Ensure that:
• The back bracket assembly is installed on the main unit. See Installing the Back Bracket Assembly
for SLX 5000 on page 26
• You have the minimum required hardware to install the device. See SLX 5000 Minimum Hardware
Requirements on page 25
• You are using appropriate wall anchors according to the field conditions.
Procedure:
1 Determine the location on the wall to install SLX 5000 mounting bracket.
2 Position the mounting bracket on to the wall at the required height.
3 Mark the spots for drilling the holes.
4 Insert screws and appropriate wall anchors to tighten in place.
NOTICE:
• Wall anchors (x4) and necessary hardware are not supplied by Motorola Solutions.
Installers are responsible for having all the required hardware.
5 Insert two SEMS screws (M8 x 20) into the lower threaded holes on the mounting bracket.
IMPORTANT: Do not tighten the screws at this step.
6 Carefully align and position the unit for the screws (one on each side) to fit into the notched
grooves on the back bracket.
7 Tighten the screws.
