Introduction

The Motorola

®

DCP501 Home Theater System features an interactive digital cable receiver, a

digital audio/video receiver, and a DVD/CD changer in a space-saving design. The DCP501
provides the gateway to such interactive services as video-on-demand, electronic programming
guides, more impulse pay-per-view movie and events channels, and Internet access. It also
enables the subscriber to connect their TV, VCR, speakers, and other electronic devices through
the DCP for easier control of their audio and video electronics.

The DCP501 is shown in Figure 1-1:
