4.2 Description
On Rotopack rotary feedthroughs the primary seal
is provided by a radial, largely leak-free contact
seal.
The primary seal refers to the sealing of the actual
feedthrough channel or channels. Under certain
operating conditions leaks may occur. Therefore
there may be leak chambers with corresponding
leak connections. The corresponding sealing
system is referred to as the secondary seal.
4.3 Rotopack MCR
Brief description
The Rotopack MCR is the basic version in the
Rotopack series. This series is characterised by
shafts with rolling bearings. The rolling bearings
are sealed off from the environment with radial
shaft seals.
The basic version devices are made of steel. Other
versions are made of nickel-plated steel or stain-
less steel.
Fig. 6: Rotopack MCR
Area of application
Standard versions for 21 MPa and 35 MPa (the
maximum operating pressure depends on the
sealing ring in use).

4.4 Rotopack MC
Brief description
The Rotopack MC series is characterised by a
shaft which is equipped with plain bearings. The
plain bearings are lubricated with grease. Lubri-
cating nipples are provided for maintenance pur-
poses.
The basic version devices are made of steel. Other
versions are made of nickel-plated steel or stain-
less steel.
