Bubble test
In a Bubble test, the test package is submerged into a liquid (in most cases clear water) in the
desiccator, and then exposed to vacuum.

The package should be monitored permanently throughout the test, and air bubbles coming
out of the package will reveal if there is a leak in the package, as well as where this leak is
located. This test is especially suitable for large-volume packages, e.g. bags.
We recommend using the flat lid desiccator for this type of test - see "Desiccator" on page 14
for details.
A Bubble test is divided into 3 phases:

Evacuation

The desiccator is evacuated to the test vacuum.

Testing

The test vacuum is maintained for a fixed period of time.

Venting

Venting of the desiccator to ambient pressure.
