5.7. Novodiag® Software upgrades and plugins
The Novodiag® Software and the Novodiag® Instrument firmware are upgraded by Mobidiag representative.
6. Operating instructions
6.1. General precautions
WARNING! Before running Novodiag® Tests, be aware of the following limitations and precautions to prevent any
risk of an incorrect result:

For single-use only, do not re-use cartridges or caps.

Do not use the product after the expiration date marked on the package and on the blister.

After opening the blister, use the cartridge within 8 hours. After the protective cover peeling, add the
sample and close the cap without any delay and start the test within 1 hour.
6.2. Starting up the Novodiag® System
Turn on the Novodiag® Instrument by switching on the power switch behind the instrument. Turn on the
Touchscreen Computer by using the button on the bottom right of the screen. Login to Windows occurs
automatically and the desktop appears. Launch the Novodiag® Software by double tapping the icon on the
desktop.
6.3. Sample and Novodiag® Test Cartridge preparation
Refer to the Novodiag® Test specific Instructions for Use for the sample and cartridge preparation procedure.
WARNING! Novodiag® Test Cartridge includes fragile and sensitive elements. For safe and appropriate use of the
cartridge, and to prevent any risk of injury or infection (if the sample has been introduced), and to prevent any risk
of an incorrect result:

Before using the cartridge, check the integrity of the blister, and ensure it contains a sorbent pouch. Do
not use a cartridge, if the sorbent pouch is missing.

Check the integrity of the protective cover of the cartridge.

Do not touch the white blocker, the PCR chambers or the slide (see Figure 4).
