CHAPTER 4: MAINTENANCE
LMV700 Nd:YVO

LASER MARKER
990-545
4-9
The lifetime of the LD (Laser Diode) Module depends entirely on the operating environment and the
ability to keep the Marker maintained. Under typical applications, the LD Module will last
approximately four years or 10,000 hours (running a typical 40 hour week for 250 weeks).
The LD Module will degrade over its lifetime. To compensate for the degradation, the LD current
should be raised approximately 1A for every 1000 hours of use. The LD Current limit may be raised as
necessary to fulfill this requirement. When the quality of the marking cannot be achieved (as when
purchased new), even with the maximum current setting of 48A, the LD module should be replaced.
CAUTION
Never
disassemble, repair or modify the LD (Laser Diode) Module.
