LD (Laser Diode) Inspection and Replacement
Replacement Timing
The recommended interval for LD replacement is approximately 2 years or 10,000 hours. (In some
cases, depending on the operating environment, you may be able to use it beyond 10,000 hours.)
If adjusting the equipment and cleaning the optics fails to restore initial laser output levels, set the LD
current to 45A. If this fails to improve laser output, the LD has reached the end of its service life and
should be replaced. A good time to order a replacement is when you have increased the LD current to
40 A.
Warranty Period
The warranty is valid for a period of 2 years after equipment delivery or for 10,000 hours of LD
operation, whichever occurs first. Replacement LDs provided during the warranty period are covered
until the original warranty period expires. After the warranty period expires, LDs that have reached the
end of their useful service lives will be replaced for a fee.
For example, suppose an LD reaches the end of its useful service life after 21 months (or 8,000 hours).
The LD module is then replaced free of charge. Once replaced the remaining warranty (for free
replacement) becomes 3 months or 2,000 hours whichever occurs first. Once 2 years or 10,000 hours has
occurred, any subsequent replacements will be done for a service fee.
Please note that operating the equipment at output levels exceeding the maximum permissible levels will
void the warranty.
Replace the LD (Pumping Laser Diode)

Before replacing the LD (Laser Diode) Module, turn the power to the equipment OFF and
wait for at least five minutes before starting work. If you start the work with the power
turned ON, electric shock, fire, or personal injury (burns, blindness, etc.) may occur.
