CHAPTER 3: OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Section II: Start-up Operating Instructions
NOTE: To eliminate Start-up errors, follow the step-by-step power-up sequence written below.
1. Verify all connections to the marker as defined in Chapter 2, Installation and Set-up .
2. Verify the proper working distance is set as defined in Chapter 2, Installation and Set-up .
3. Verify the
Emergency Stop Switch
is not activated on the Marker Control Unit.
4. Verify the
Control Key Switch
is in the OFF Position on the Marker Control Unit.
5. Turn the Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker on the backside of the Marker Control Unit is turned
ON.
6. Turn the Marker’s Main Power Switch ON. If any anomalies such as smoke or loud noises are
observed, shut the system down immediately and locate the source of the problem.
7. When first turned ON, the Marker will run a series of internal diagnostic tests. If the unit
checks OK, all LED’s will turn OFF, except the the power LED which will remain lit.
8. Turn the main power switch on the PC (computer) and monitor to the ON position.
9. Once the computer is up and running, double-click the
[LMDrawLite]
icon on the desktop.
10. Once LMDrawLite is running a
connection will be made between the
Marker and PC. Once the equipment is
connected, the
Online
status display
will indicate the connection by turning
blue.
11. On the Marker Control Unit, turn the
Control Key Switch to the
ON
position
and verify the
Key Switch
status
display turns green. Verify no errors
are listed in the status screen display.
12. Start the unit by selecting the
ON
button from the LMDrawLite toolbar.
A message will appear indicating that
the LD is warming up.

13. Once the
Starting Up
status display turns green, the Marker is ready for operation.

software.
