•
Secure the vacuum pump.
•
Bring the vacuum pump to the desired location with suitable means of transport.
•
Deposit safely.
•
Remove the slinging devices.
Storage
Store the vacuum pump in accordance with the following conditions:
• Site: closed, dry and vibration
-free room.
• Temperature: between 5°C and 40°C
• Air humidity: up to 60%.
• The vacuum
pump is treated with preservative for storage.
• Once a month, the shaft is rotated manually by several revolutions, e.g. with the motor fan.
• Apply preservative every six months.
INSTALLATION
The installation of the pump is described below. Consult the manufacturer for installations other than those
described.
Installation site control

The floor/frame is plane and vibration-free.

The base corresponds to the installation plan.

Horizontal installation position.
✓
Connected fittings are accessible.
✓
The pipes are available according to the installation plan.
✓
Ambient temperature: between -20°C and +40°C; for temperatures below +5°C the operator must take
measures to prevent frost damage.
As an alternative to the horizontal installation position, the pump can be installed at 90° to the discharge line
on the shaft axis, so that the discharge line is on the lower part of the pump.
Disposal of the preservative
Environmental damage
Collect solvents, cleaning agents or detergents and eliminate them in accordance with the regulations.

The vacuum pump is made of grey cast iron.

The vacuum pump is located on a workstation with a cleaning table.

Repeat the following steps until the corrosion protection is removed.
• Seal the suction and pressure line.
• Fill the
vacuum pump via the connection for the operating fluid with water.
• Place the collecting container under the drain connection.
• Carefully unscrew the screw on the drain connection.
• Collect the preservative and eliminate it properly.
• Clean the screw a
nd pump threads.
• Surround the screw with PTFE tape.
• Screw in the screw of the drain connection and tighten to the torque specified in the following table.

Pre-assembly
Warning: vacuum pump roll-over > crush hazard.
Secure the pump against roll-over.
