Troubleshooting
Trouble
Remedy
No cutting output; Pilot light off; trouble
lights off; fan motor does not run.
Place cutter and welding power source Power switch in On position (see Section 3-4 and welding power
source Owner’s Manual).
If applicable, place line disconnect device in On position (see welding power source Owner’s Manual).
If applicable, check line fuse(s) and replace if needed or reset circuit breakers (see welding power source
Owner’s Manual).
If Polarity light is On, correct connections between welding power source and cutter (see Section 4-4).
Be sure work clamps from welding power source and cutter are connected to the same workpiece (see
Section 2-8).
Check main fuse F1 and replace if needed (see Section 4-3).
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check control board PC1.
No cutting output; Pilot light on; trouble
lights off; fan motor running.
Be sure work clamps from welding power source and cutter are connected to the same workpiece (see
Section 2-8).
Check for proper installation of torch parts and consumables (see torch Owner’s Manual).
Check for secure torch lead connections (see Section 4-6).
Check pilot fuse F1 and replace if needed (see Section 4-3).
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check control board PC1 and torch trigger switch.
Power/Circuit Breaker switch trips when
cutting.
Reduce welding power source/generator cutting amperage by 10 amperes. (Do not exceed 200 amperes
cutting output.)
If possible, change to welding power source/generator with higher cutting capacity.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check current sensing boards CT1 and CT2, control board PC1,
and connections to Power/Circuit Breaker switch CB1.
Power/Circuit Breaker switch trips im-
mediately when turned On.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check Power/Circuit Breaker switch CB1 or switching SCR Q1.
No control of output.
Have Factory Authorized Service Agent check Cutting Current control R8, control board PC1, and current
sensing board CT2.
