4.3 Error Codes
The SCM4000 has a library of diagnostic Error Codes to help
you pinpoint any problems.
The error codes are displayed on the front panel alphanumeric
display, on the
System Menu > Active Errors menu screen.
See Figure 4-1 , and will be displayed after periods of inactivity
when errors are present.
Note Error codes shown in Figure 4-1 are typical. See
Tables 4-2 thru 4-5 for complete lists of possible
SCM4000 Error Codes.

These error codes will cause the status ALERT LED to glow
amber or the ALARM LED to glow red, alerting you to
investigate the problem.
The first group of characters is the primary error code, i.e., E122 .
In all cases, this portion of the error code will uniquely identify the
Active Errors
* E333: DCC -12
E332: DCC +12
E122: MPEG PCR
problem and will provide an error message label adjacent to the
error code, i.e.,
MPEG PCR .
Note If you are viewing this manual on-line, major alarm
messages displayed on the SCM4000
alphanumeric display are indicated in Tables 4-2
thru 4-6 with a red background and alert messages
are indicated with an amber background.

SCM4000 chassis error codes, including DC voltage,
temperature, and fan faults, and what to do if they appear.
