Carrier Gas Purifiers
External gas purifiers must be completely conditioned with gas flow-
ing through them before connection to the ta7000F. Failure to prop-
erly condition purifiers can result in serious contamination.
Flame Ionization Detector (FID) Flame Ignition
Do not ignite the FID flame unless the FID is at operation temperature.
Doing so will cause moisture to condense in the unheated FID and will
short out the electrometer input leads.
Electrical Signal Cables
Turn power Off before connecting or disconnecting electrical signal
cables. Damage to circuit boards could result.
Shut Down/Cool Down
Be sure to turn Off all heated zones and shut Off the hydrogen supply
to the instrument prior to disconnecting gas supply lines. The carrier
gas should remain flowing until all heated zones are below 50 °C (2–3
hours). After shutting Off carrier gas, immediately cap all open gas
ports on the Rear Panel.
