Car Washing
Before washing your vehicle, remove
insect residues. MB insect rem over is
recom mended. Do not use hot water
or wash your car in d ire ct sunlight.
Use only a mild car wash detergent,
such as MB auto shampoo.
Thoroughly spray the car with a dif­
fused je t of water. D irect only a very
weak spray tow ards the ventilation
intake. Use plenty of w ater and rinse
the sponge and chamois frequently.
Rinse with clear w ater and thorougly
wipe dry with a chamois. Do not allow
cleaning agents to dry on the finish.
If the vehicle has been run through an
autom atic car wash — in particular
one of the older installations —
rewipe the recessed sections in the
taillamps (for im proved prevention of
soiling) if necessary. No solvents
(fuels, thinners etc.) m ust be used.
In the w inter, thoroughly remove all
traces of road salt as soon as possi­
ble.
When washing the underbody, do not
fo rg e t to clean the inner sides of the
wheels.
Tar Stains
Quickly rem ove tar stains before they
dry and becom e more d ifficu lt to
remove. MB tar rem over is recom ­
mended.
Window Cleaning, Wiper Blades
Use a w indow cleaning solution on
very dirty or oil-stained w indows.
Clean w indshield w iper blades w ith a
clean cloth and detergent solution.
Replace blades at least once or tw ice
a year.
To assist w ith the removal of accum u­
lated road film on the windshield and
improve w iping ability, a cap of MB
auto sham poo can be added to the
5 liter container of washer solvent.
Headlamp Cleaning System
The condition of the w iper blades is
im portant fo r satisfactory cleaning of
the headlamp lenses. We therefore
recom m end that the blades are
inspected regularly.
Replace damaged w iper blades.
Plastic Parts, Headliner
and Rubber Parts
Do not use oil o r wax on these parts.
Seat Belts
The w ebbing m ust not be treated with
chemical cleaning agents. Use only
clear, lukewarm w ater and soap. Do
not dry the w ebbing at tem peratures
above 80° C (176° F) o r in direct sun­
light. Never bleach o r re-dye the w eb­
bing as this may severely weaken the
belts.
Steering Wheel, Instrument Cluster
and Selector Lever
Use a gentle dish-washing detergent
or mild detergent fo r delicate fabrics
as a washing solution. Wipe with a
cloth m oistened in lukewarm solution.
Do not use scouring agents.
