Care and maintenance
To avoid deterioration of the tone
quality, clean the tape head w ith the
special cleaning tape available
through your authorized MERCEDES-
BENZ dealer.
Radio anti-theft protection
Removal of the radio with the vehicle
anti-theft alarm armed will render the
radio inoperative indicated by a
dashed line across the display.
Autom atic Antenna
The antenna sw itch can be actuated
with the radio sw itched on and the
key in steering lock positions 1 or 2.
• If the antenna sw itch is in the cen­
te r position, the antenna extends
autom atically to medium height,
• if the antenna sw itch is engaged in
the “ m ax." position, the antenna
extends fully,
• if the antenna sw itch is engaged in
the “ o ff” position, the antenna will
not extend or will retract com ­
pletely.
The height of the antenna can be
adjusted to any interm ediate position
by actuating the antenna sw itch:
• If the antenna switch is in the cen­
ter position, the antenna will
extend to medium height. The
antenna can be fu rth e r extended
or retracted to any height by ro ck­
ing the sw itch (not engaging it).
• If the antenna is to be retracted,
e.g. going through car wash, etc.,
engage sw itch in “ o ff” position.
When the key is turned to steering
lock position 0 or the radio is turned
off, the antenna will retract co m ­
pletely.
