Coolants
The c o o la n t is a m ix tu re o f w a te r
and a n ti-c o rro s io n /a n tifre e z e . In
p ro d u c tio n , th e c o o lin g system is
fille d w ith an a n ti-c o rro s io n /a n ti-
freeze-w ater m ix tu re o ffe rin g
p ro te c tio n to a p p ro x. - 3 0 °

erature gauge in the in s tru m e n t
c lu ste r is m atched to th is a n ti-c o r-
ro sio n /a n tifre e ze -w a te r m ix tu re (ap­

The p ro te c tio n a g a in s t c o rro s io n is
also ensured by th is m ix tu re m aking
it unnecessary to add a c o rro s io n
in h ib ito r.
The c o o la n t rem ains in the c o o lin g
system all year long and m ust be
renew ed a fte r 3 years at th e latest.
If c o o la n t is lost, replace m issing
q u a n tity w ith w a te r (p o ta b le w a te r
q u a lity) plus a n ti-c o rro s io n /a n ti-
freeze o f a reco m m e n d e d brand.
For reasons o f c o rro s io n in h ib itio n
the m in im u m p ro p o rtio n o f a n ti-c o r­
ro s io n /a n tifre e ze m ust be 34%,
w h ich gives a n ti-c o rro s io n /a n ti­
freeze p ro te c tio n d o w n to
- 20° Cl - 4° F.
If a n ti-c o rro s io n /a n tifre e z e is te m ­
p o ra rily n o t available, add a c o rro ­
sion in h ib ito r to th e c o o lin g w a te r
to e n su re p ro p e r p ro te c tio n ag a inst
c o rro s io n . To tre a t th e c o o lin g w a ­
ter, do n o t use m ore than 1% (10
cm 3/l) o f a re c o m m e n d e d c o rro s io n
in h ib ito r.
W ith o u t a n ti-c o rro s io n /a n tifre e z e
in th e c o o lin g system , th e w a te r
already sta rts b o ilin g at a p p ro x.
118° C/2240 F, w h ic h m eans th a t the
p o in te r o f th e te m p e ra tu re gauge in
th e in s tru m e n t c lu s te r may s till be
b e lo w th e red m ark.
