Tow -starting and Towing
the Vehicle
The rear to w in g eye is w elded
fro m b e lo w to th e rig h t side o f the
spare tire c o m p a rtm e n t. The fro n t
to w in g eye is lo ca te d b ehind the
fla p in th e fro n t b u m p e r panel
(arrow ).
Flap rem oval: Insert fin g e r in th e
o p e n in g o f the flap, pull the fla p o u t
s lig h tly and d o w n w a rd to remove.
To in sta ll th e flap, e ngage th e flap
at th e to p and press in th e b o tto m
securely.
E ngage h o o k o f to w in g bar fro m the
rig h t side o f th e to w in g eye. This
w ill e n su re ad e q u a te clearance be­
tw een th e to w in g bar and the
b u m p e r panel o p e n in g d u rin g turns.
O nly to w -s ta rt v e h ic le w ith th e b a t­
te ry c o n n e c te d and th e key in ste e r­
ing lo c k p o s itio n 2.
W a rn in g :
W hen th e e n g in e is n o t ru n n in g ,
both th e service brake and th e
s te e rin g are w ith o u t p o w e r assist­
ance. U nder these circ u m s ta n c e s , a
m u ch g re a te r e ffo rt is necessary to
ste e r o r sto p th e vehicle.

tio n 2 and have ve h icle tow ed.
To c ra n k th e e n g ine , s h ift s e le c to r
lever to “ 2 ” . T o u ch th e a c c e le ra to r
o n ly w hen th e e n g in e sta rts firin g .
As soon as th e e n g in e has sta rte d ,
im m e d ia te ly re tu rn s e le c to r lever to
“ N ” .
It is im p o rta n t to a llo w th e e n g in e to
idle fo r at least 1 m in u te before
s ta rtin g o ff because th e p re g lo w in g
process sta rts w hen th e key is in
s te e rin g lo c k p o s itio n 2 and is n o t
im m e d ia te ly d is ru p te d a fte r th e en­
g in e has been to w -s ta rte d . D uring
th is tim e th e p re g lo w in g process is
c u t o u t a u to m a tic a lly .
If th e e n g in e has n o t fire d a fte r a
few seconds, s h ift th e s e le c to r lever
to “ N ” to p ro te c t th e tra n sm issio n
fro m dam age.
For a new s ta rtin g atte m p t, tow -
s ta rt th e v e h ic le fo r som e tim e
again w ith th e s e le c to r lever in posi­
tio n “ N ” and repeat th e s ta rtin g p ro ­
cedure.
The same m e th o d can be used to
sta rt th e e n g in e in e m ergencies
w hen ro llin g d o w n h ill.
