Self-Timer Mode
With the default setting, the shutter is released 10 seconds after the
Shutter Release Button is fully pressed.
The Self-Timer lamp flashes slowly for the first seven seconds, then
it flashes quickly for the last three seconds before the shutter is
released.
This function may be used to take group photographs or a self-
portrait.
1. Mount the camera on a tripod.
2. Press the Mode Setting Button (A) three times
to activate Self-Timer Mode. The Self-Timer Mark
and the initial setting "10" (for 10 seconds) is
displayed on the Main LCD
.
3. The number of seconds before the shutter will
be released can be changed by turning the Front
or Rear Dial. The number can be set between three
and 60, in steps of one second from 3-10 seconds,
and in steps of 10 seconds between 10 and 60 sec-
onds. The setting is registered after five seconds or
when the Shutter Release Button is pressed.
4. Look through the viewfinder, determine the com-
position, check that the focus is correctly set, and
then press the Shutter Release Button.
The shutter will be released after the set number
of seconds.
Eyepiece Shutter
Use the Eyepiece Shutter when there is a strong light source behind the camera or when
photographing without looking through the viewfinder.
The shutter prevents exposures errors by blocking extraneous light from entering the
viewfinder.
To activate the shutter, turn the Eyepiece Shutter
Lever in the direction of the arrow.
