Subjects Where Auto Focus May Not Work
The auto-focus function requires sufficient subject contrast, therefore
auto focus may not be possible with the types of subjects described
below. If you are unable to use auto focus, switch to manual focus or
point the camera at an object the same distance as the subject you want
to photograph, and then lock the lens using the Focus Lock Mechanism.
1. Where differences between
light and shade are not clear,
i.e. blue skies, white walls, etc.
2. When there are two or more
objects within the Focus Frame.
3. Subjects with repeating
patterns.
4. Brightly shining objects like
the sun, water surfaces, etc.
5. When the subject is significantly smaller than the Focus Frame.
