technical service engineers.
5.6 Troubleshooting of LPU Card
On the panel of each LPU card, there is one STA dual-color status indicator. In the normal
state, STA flashes (it indicates that the card is loaded successfully and in the normal working
state). If the STA indicator on the panel changes to red to off, it indicates that the card is
loaded abnormally or the card fails. Meanwhile, the interface of the LPU card has the LINK/ACT
indicator. In the normal state, LINK/ACT is on or flashes (it indicates that the line is connected
or there is data transmission). If the LINK/ACT indicator of the interface is off, it indicates that
the interface or connection cable may fail. Refer to the following steps for troubleshooting.
Step 1:
Check whether the connection of the interface cable is correct. If the interface is
RJ45 Ethernet port, refer to
4.2.1 Access Network via Ethernet Twisted Pair
. If
the interface is optical interface, refer to
4.2.2 Access Network via LC Fiber
or
4.2.3 Access Network via MPO Fiber
.
Step 2:
Check whether the cable is damaged. Use the cable to connect one pair of the
same type of normal interfaces. If the interface indicator is on normally, it
indicates that the cable is good. If the interface indicator is still off, it indicates
that there is something wrong with the cable. Change the cable.
Step 3:
If the interface uses the swappable interface module, check whether the
interface type matches with the swappable module model and whether the
swappable module model matches with the external cable specifications.
Step 4:
For the interface using the swappable interface module, try to change the
swappable module and remove the fault of the swappable module.
Step 5:
Use the show interface switchport brief command to view whether the port
status is UP. If no, configure the no shutdown command in the corresponding
port.
Step 6:
Check whether the rate and duplex settings of the two interfaces are consistent
and ensure that the settings of the two interfaces can cooperate to work.
If the fault still cannot be located by the preceding steps, please contact the agent or local
technical service engineers.
5.7 Get Technical Support
If the fault remains via the above contents of the chapter, please contact the agent or local
technical engineers in time. Before you contact the customer service, please prepare the
following information, which is convenient for the customer service staff to help you solve the
problem.
1.
The arrival time of the router
2.
The serial number of the chassis (labeled on the chassis)
3.
Software version number (it can be viewed via show version in the command line
view)
