4. INSTALLATION 

 

This chapter identifies the MCP-601 components that were shipped from the factory.  This chapter also 
describes how to install the MCP-601, connect the MCP-601 to a computer, and how to install the Magni 
Premier application software. 

 

MCP-601 Components 
 

The following MCP-601 components were shipped from the factory.  Before proceeding, carefully unpack the 
contents and verify the condition of each component. 
If any component is missing or damaged, contact your nearest authorized dealer or Magni for information 
about replacing parts.

Installing the MCP-601 into a Rack 

 

The MCP-601 mounts into any industry-standard rack.  To install the MCP-601: 

•

 

Install the rack mounting ears onto the MCP-601. 

•

 

Insert the MCP-601 into the rack and then secure it using the supplied screws

.

 

 

 

 

CAUTION: 

The MCP-601 produces very little heat and does not need 

a lot of air space.  However, installing it in between two devices that 
produce a high amount of heat might cause overheating. 

For optimal performance, keep the top cover air flow unrestricted.
