Appendix C: Using the USB port on Mondo III SAP
The Mondo III SAP Option allows a USB control connection. This requires a USB type A to
Type B mini cable connected to a PC or laptop as well as a software driver file,
MONDO3_USB.INF which is located on the CDROM shipped with the Mondo III System
It can also be downloaded from http://www.magenta-research.com.
To install the driver, follow the instructions below:
1. Connect the USB cable from PC to the Mondo Master frame with the USB port.
2. When prompted by Windows, to automatically search for a driver click No.
3. Click to manually install driver and follow prompts.
4. When Have disk option appears, click and point to the CDROM or driver file location if it
was downloaded.
5. If prompted that the driver is unsigned, click Continue Anyway.
6. Once the driver has been installed, open the serial terminal application and connect to
the appropriate COM port.
7. Use the Device Manager to determine which COM port is assigned to the Mondo III.
Note that the USB connection will be dropped if the Master frames is powered off. After
powering the Master frame on, disconnect/re-connect the USB cable to re-establish
communication.
