Curing
5.1
Setting of the Exposure Time
• Press buttons – in the upper line to decrease the
exposure time or the buttons + in the lower line to
increase the exposure time.
The time range is from 000.1 s up to 999.9 s. The
smallest step is 0.1 s
5.2
Start Exposure Time
• Push start button 4 or press the foot switch, shutter opens, and exposure cycle starts.
Start button lights up during exposure time. When the exposure cycle has timed out, the shutter
closes, and the start button extinguishes.
5.3
Working with the Light Guide
• Position the light guide so that UV energy is directed at the adhesive. The distance should be
no closer than approximately 6-8 mm (approximately 0.25 inch) to prevent vapors from
accumulating on the wand. Distance and exposure time should initially be monitored to insure
that the adhesive or substrate are not burned.

PLC Interface - Optional Kit # 8900399
The unit is equipped with an interface for computer controlled systems. This interface permits
you to control and monitor six important system parameters via Programmable Logic Control
units. The interface is galvanically isolated from the power supply by opto-couplers, and is read
out by means of the external voltage supplied by the PLC unit only, see Section 12.
The following functions are available:
– Action (Input signal):
Lamp ignition
Timer start
– Signal (Output signal):
System overheated
Lamp ready / full power
Shutter open
Ignition successful
Adaption to PLC System Voltages
Different PLCs could have different output voltages. Therefore, it is necessary to adapt the
voltages of the PLC to the UV Wand System 97034. For the input signals a resistor R1 should
be mounted; for the output signals a resistor R2.
For further information see Section 12.
