6.1
Safety Switch
A safety switch is mounted in the housing where the control cam of the top cover interferes.
Operation of the system is not possible when the top cover is removed or not correctly mounted.
Removing, jumpering or over-riding of the safety devices can result in damage to the unit
and is therefore prohibited!
6.2
Excess Temperature Protection
The UV Wand system is provided with a thermostatic switch for monitoring maximum
temperature inside the housing.
– This switch, mounted on the heat sink of the PCB, turns the lamp off, if temperature
is excessive.
If excess temperature protection is actuated, check cooling slots and fan.
– When the lamp is cooled off, the system can be reignited.
6.3
Fan Control
The rotation of the fan is monitored electronically. Should the fan be obstructed or fail, the lamp
will automatically be switched off or will refuse to ignite.
The UV Wand System needs minimal care and maintenance.
When the lamp module is changed, a cleaning of the lens near the module should be done. This
is only possible if the module is disassembled.
• Take a lint-free kerchief with pure alcohol and carefully clean the lens. The Light Guides
should be cleaned, too. They also should be cleaned if they are steamy.
• Take a lint-free kerchief with pure alcohol and carefully clean the lenses on both ends.If they
are steamy, and cannot be cleaned, they should be changed.
