Important
The starting, running and maintenance
and repair operations must be carried
out by skilled personnel who have
read, and understood, the safety
instructions earlier in this handbook.
Particular attention must be given to
the description of these two symbols in
"Section 02. Safety Precautions".

It is important to ensure that all the
necessary precautions to prevent
an inadvertent starting of the set
during maintenance, fault finding
and repair operations have been
taken.
6.1 bearInGs
Periodical checks must be made to
detect overheating and noise. If the
bearing is worn it can cause excessive
in which case it must be replaced.
Replacing Bearings
Remove the alternator from the engine
and securely position it in a safe
working area.

2. Using a suitable lifting device,
equipped with soft ropes, and of an
adequate lifting capacity, remove the
rotor.

3. The bearing is removed by using a
suitable bearing puller.

4. Heat the bearing with a suitable
magnetic device.
