MAINTENANCE
Only use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the unit. Do not use detergent. Do not
expose the unit to direct sunlight or any other heat source. Do not immerse the unit in
water. Do not dismantle or drop the unit. Do not try to twist or bend the unit. Use only the
recommended power accessories. The use of power sources not expressly recommended
for this camera may lead to overheating, distortion of the camera, fire, electrical shock or
other hazards.
WEBCAM MODE
Connected to your PC, your camera can be used as a webcam.
Webcam mode
1. Turn on the camera.
2. Press the MENU button (19) and, in the Setup menu, use the DOWN/MODE (15) button
to select the USB option.
3. Set the camera to ‘PCCAM’ (webcam mode). See also the ‘Setup menu’ in the ‘Settings
Menu (Capture Mode)’ section on page 26.
4. Connect the camera to your computer with the USB cable provided.
5. Click ‘Exit’.
6. Double click ‘My Computer’ and the Standard Camera icon
will be displayed on
your PC.
7. Double-click this icon to launch your webcam.
8. To take snapshots, click “Take a New Picture” button. The picture automatically appears
at the bottom of the window.
Instant messaging (chat)
You can use your camera as a webcam with your instant messaging client (Yahoo
Messenger, MSN Messenger, Skype…).
Example:
1. Put your camera in webcam mode and connect it to your computer then launch MSN
Messenger.
2. On the MSN interface, select ‘Actions’, then ‘Start a Video Conversation’.
3. Select the person you want to chat with and press ‘OK’.

exposure to heat or damp, etc).It is recommended to keep the packaging for any further
reference.
