Procedure performed by

: Customer or field service

Complete the following steps to remove a DIMM:

Step 1. Carefully press down the retaining clips on each end of the DIMM connector.

Attention:

To avoid breaking the retaining clips or damaging the DIMM connectors, open and

close the clips gently.

Step 2. Lift the DIMM from its slot.

The removal of the DIMM is now complete.

After removal of the DIMM:

• Install a new DIMM. See “Memory module installation” on page 112

• If you are instructed to return the component or optional device, follow all packaging instructions, and use

any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
