Working with operator management
As administrator you manage the z4 with the setup software.
With this you set the device-relevant parameters like source
names, offset GAIN, GPI/tally functions and the respective PIN
numbers. The z4 mixer offers settings for ten operators and one
guest. After switching on the z4 you are always in the guest
area. Operators log in with their PIN number.
The channel strips with their display are named A, B, C and D
from left to right to make explaining easier.
Operator: log-in with PIN number
When you are a registrated operator you authorise yourself by a
four-digit PIN number. Proceed as follows.
1. Switch on the device
You are in the guest area.
2. Press the setup button “USER”
The setup button “USER” shows green.
The following display appears:
Shows “Select” in the top line of the channel A display
you are in the guest area.
3. Turn the channel rotary knob A and select one of the ten
operators
4. Press then the rotary control A to confirm your selection
