Working with summing buses
Any source supplying a z4 channel can be assigned to the
summing buses by using the setup button “BUS”. The mixing
console differentiates between mix, pre, post, direct out and
hybrid buses. The hybrid bus is a macro function for operating a
telephone hybrid which, referring to the bus, is also a mix-minus-
one or clean-feed setup.
Attention:
For the same source it is basically the same bus
assignment of all channels that applies.
Attention:
Buses set in the setup software as pre-, post or direct-out
bus and marked with an x or ^ cannot be selected as mix
bus.
Summing bus assignment
For summing bus assignment, you generally follow the
instructions given below. This step requires that a source must
be assigned to the respective channel strip first.
1.
Press the setup button “BUS”
The button shows green.
You are now in the mode for summing bus assignment.
2.
Press the channel (PFL) button of that channel strip to
which you want to assign a summing bus
The channel (PFL) button blinks green
On the display appears a small triangle in the top line. It points
to the numbers above the display which refer to the bus
numbers 1 - -4.
3.
Turn the channel rotary knob for moving the triangle
under the required bus number
