12.1. Troubleshooting the Television/Stereo Connection

ed, but the TV doesn’t
recognize it.
Have you properly set the video
out parameters in the
Settings
menu?

button to change from HDMI (de-
fault) to Composite Video Out mode.

How do you know which firmware
version your LaCinema Classic HD
is using?
To check which firmware is currently installed on your LaCinema Classic
HD, attach it to your TV and use the remote control to navigate to the
Set-
tings
menu. The firmware version is displayed in the bottom right corner of
the
Settings
menu.
How do you get new firmware,
and how do you install it?

There is no picture
being displayed.
Are all of the cables connected
correctly?
Ensure that all of the cables are connected correctly. See section
4. Setting
Up: Connecting to TV
.
The picture is in black
and white or there
is no picture being
displayed.
Is the LaCinema Classic HD’s
Video setting correctly set?
In the event that there is an error with the Video setting, press the
Info
button
on the remote control until the correct image is displayed. Once the picture
is being displayed, go into the
Settings
menu and select
Video
. From there,
you can select the correct settings. For more information, please see section
10.2. Settings: Video
.
Optimizing video
connections.
What connectivity method will
produce the best quality?
For optimal quality and performance, the best video connection is the
HDMI cable (included).
There is no sound
when connecting the
LaCinema Classic HD
to a digital stereo.
Have the Audio Settings been
adjusted?
When using the A/V cable to connect the LaCinema Classic HD to a TV,
go into the
Settings
menu and select
Audio Settings
. From this menu, you
will need to select the
Analog
option instead of
Digital
.
Slideshows are slug-
gish.
Does it take several seconds to
load a picture?
Depending on file size, photos may take several seconds to load properly.
Reducing the photo’s resolution will reduce the file size, as well, and allow
the file to load faster.
