Solution
There seems to be
a conflict.
Have you changed the parameters of
your firewall or anti-virus programs?
Make sure firewall software on your workstation is not blocking access to
the 5big Backup Server.
My computer from
work will not con-
nect to the 5big
Backup Server.
Do you have administration rights to
your work computer?
If your computer has been joined to a corporate network (such as a laptop
you use at work), check with the corporate network administrator about the
IPsec policy. This may block access from the corporate computer to the
5big Backup Server.
Windows Home
Server only recog-
nizes a part of my
non-LaCie stor-
age.
I just bought a new 3TB drive and add-
ed it to the Storage Hard Drives. Why is
Windows Home Server only using 2TB
of the drive?
Windows Home Server cannot add more than 2TB of a single disk to its
pool of Storage Hard Drives. For example, if you add a 3TB non-LaCie
drive into the pool of Storage Hard Drives, Windows Home Server will only
use 2TB of its capacity. The remaining storage will be placed in the System
as unavailable.
Folder Duplication
does not work.
Why is Folder Duplication unavailable?
You must have more than one disk in the pool of Storage Hard Drives to
enable Folder Duplication.
Folder Duplication
must be enabled
manually.
I now have more than one drive in the
Windows Home Server pool of Storage
Hard Drives. Why is Folder Duplication
still disabled on my older folders? The
Configuration Guide says that Folder
Duplication is enabled by default (
3.2.1.
Folder and File Duplication
).
You may have run the Connector CD with only one hard drive in the 5big
enclosure. In this case, all of the default Windows Home Server folders as
well as folders created by users could not enable Folder Duplication. Once
additional disks are added to the Windows Home Server pool of Storage
Hard Drives, Folder Duplication may be enabled manually. In addition,
Folder Duplication will be enabled by default for new folders created by
users.
