Figure 28. Outdoor Reset Example
When there is an active outdoor
reset condition, the set point
will be a calculated value (CSP)
based on the outdoor reset
settings. The example in Figure
27 and Figure 28, shows that the
Outdoor Air Temperature is 42°F.
Based on this, and without a call
for DHW, the set point (CSP)
is 160°F. As the outdoor air
temperature increases, the CSP
decreases.
8.D.3
Outdoor Reset
Outdoor reset adjusts a boiler’s setpoint based on outdoor air temperature. This is for boilers only, and is not
used for domestic water. The Outdoor Parameters Screen allows the adjustment of the following parameters:
• Enable/Disable
– Enables and disables the outdoor reset functionality.
• Maximum Outdoor Temperature
– The outdoor temperature at which the unit will use the minimum water
temperature as the set point.
• Minimum Outdoor Temperature
– The outdoor temperature at which the unit will use the maximum water
temperature as the set point.
• CH1 Minimum Water Temperature
– The minimum CH1 boiler outlet temperature based on the Maximum
Outdoor Temperature.
• CH2 Minimum Water Temperature
– The minimum CH2 boiler outlet temperature based on the Maximum
Outdoor Temperature.
