Pressing and releasing the
DC Button
“pings” the recipient. The recipient’s phone emits an
incoming tone and displays your name or number. If available, he or she can choose to
respond and begin the conversation.
l
Alternatively, you can hold the button and speak after you first press and hear the tone. In
this case, your voice will broadcast instantly over the recipient’s speaker. Pinging the
recipient’s phone by pressing and releasing may avoid unintentional interruptions.
4. After the recipient accepts your call:
l
Wait for “
Push to Talk
” to appear onscreen.
l
Press and hold the
DC Button
.
l
Wait for a tone to sound and “
Me
” to appear onscreen before you begin talking.
5. Release the
DC Button
to listen.
6. Touch
to end the call.
Note:
All Direct Connect calls end automatically if there is no activity on the call for several seconds.
Make a Direct Connect Call from Contacts
Place a Direct Connect call to the Direct Connect numbers stored in your Contacts.
1. Press
Home
>
>
People
>
Contacts
tab.
2. Touch an entry you want to place a Direct Connect call.
3. Touch the number with “
DC ONLY
” or “
Direct Connect
XXX” under it.
– or –
Touch
Direct Connect
or press the
DC Button
, and select a number.
l
Select the
Remember this choice
check box first if you want to select the number as
default for a Direct Connect call to the contact.
4. Press and release the
DC Button
.
5. Continue the Direct Connect call as described previously.
Make a Direct Connect Call Using a Speed Dial Number
Place a Direct Connect call to assigned speed dial numbers.
1. Press
Home
>
>
Dialpad
tab.
2. Enter a speed dial number and press and release the
DC Button
.
3. Continue the Direct Connect call as described previously.
