Instructions (Cont.)
Risotto
With automatic stirring action, this program takes all the hard work out of
cooking risotto. Just make sure the stirring paddle is properly fitted before
adding ingredients.
The default cooking time is 35 minutes, but you can adjust this if your type of
rice or ingredients require more or less cooking time.
At the end of the cooking time, the multi-cooker will automatically
enter
warm-keeping mode.
For best results:
• We recommend
searing
meat/seafood and
sautéing
flavouring ingredients on
the
Sear/Saut
é
setting first for better flavour development. To do this, close
the lid and preheat the appliance for 2–3 minutes on the
Sear/Sauté
setting.
• Add a little oil or cooking fat to the inner pot and sauté your flavouring
ingredients (such as onions, garlic, ginger, chilli, etc.) for 4–5 minutes.
• Add the required quantity of Arborio (short, round-grained) rice.
• Press the STIR button to mix well and sauté for 2–3 minutes.
• If using wine, add it now and cook uncovered, until the alcohol has evaporated
and the rice has absorbed the liquid.
• Press the STIR button to stop the stirring action, then press the OFF | KEEP
WARM button to cancel the program.
• Add the required quantity of stock or water.
• Close the lid and press the ON | MENU button until the
Risotto
program is
selected.
• Keep the lid closed during cooking.
• At the end of the cooking period, fold through any additional ingredients such
as parmesan cheese, butter, herbs and seasoning.
RICE AND WATER QUANTITIES
• White rice
= 1 measuring cup rice + 1 measuring cup water (or stock)
• Brown rice
= 1 measuring cup rice + 1½ measuring cups water (or stock)
• Use the brown rice ratio for cooking
Arborio
or
sushi
rice
or
quinoa.
• The supplied measuring cup fits 150–160mL, which is less than a standard
metric cup (250mL). If your recipe gives quantities in standard metric cups,
maintain the same cooking ratio of rice to water.
