4.8 Description of functions of crop press roller unit

NOTICE
Damages to the guide wheels and increased wear at the pivot point of the pick-up if the
lowering of the pick-up is not limited
If the lowering of the pick-up is not limited by means of the depth limiters (4), the guide wheels
may be damaged or there will be an increased wear at the pivot point of the pick-up when
passing deep furrows.
„ Limit the lowering of the pick-up by means of the depth limiters (4), refer to page 199 .
The working height of the pick-up can be limited downward manually by moving the depth
limiters (4) on both sides of the machine so that the crops can be taken up without using the
guide wheels,

4.8 Description of functions of crop press roller unit

The crop press roller unit (3) and the intake roller (1) regulate the transport of the crops. They
ensure that the pick-up collects crops regularly.
The height of the crop press roller unit can be adjusted to the height of the swath via the
supporting chain (4),

The bearing pressure of the crop press roller (2) on the swath is set by means of the spring
(5),
refer to page 201 .
4.9 Description of cutting unit functions
The machine has a cutting unit with cutting rotor and fixed blades. Cutting allows for improved
further processing of the big bale and makes it possible to increase the baling density. In the
event of crop blockages, the blades can be swivelled hydraulically out of the feed channel from
the tractor. Each blade is protected individually against foreign objects. The machine can also
be used without blades. The cutting cylinder then takes over the function of a conveyor between
the pick-up and the pre-bale channel. The blades are divided into two groups: upper and lower
blade group.
