Mounting the 300 mm hose
A 300 mm hose (3) connects the bacterial filter (5) and the nebulizer
chamber lid (18).
Connect the short hose [1] to the nozzle on the bacterial filter [2]
and the nozzle on the lid [3].
Mounting the 1200 mm hose
Fit the long hose [1] to the second nozzle on the lid [2] and push it
into the clips on the hinged arm. Guide the hose upwards in such a
way that condensate can flow back into the nebulizer chamber.
Secure the lid of the nebulizer chamber with the holding-down
device.
6.4.2
Nebulizing with standard disposable sterilized water systems
Fill the nebulizer chamber (2) with distilled water until the sterile
water system [2] (e.g., Hudson RCI) is wetted up to the mark for
contact water (shaded area [1]). The distilled water in the nebulizer
chamber serves to transmit the oscillations to the sterile water
system.
Prepare the sterile water system as specified in the respective
instructions for use and fit it onto the nebulizer chamber in place
of the lid.
Connect the hoses and secure the sterile water system in position
with the holding-down device.
The contact water must be changed after every use, but at least
once a day.
Sterile water capsules can be purchased from pharmacies or medical supplies retailers
Make sure that the nebulizer chamber and the sterile water system contain a sufficient amount of liquid.
If this is not the case, this can damage the sterile water capsule (loss of sterility) or the nebulizer chamber.
Always secure sterile water capsules with the holding-down device (28).
Warning, risk of injury!
If the sterile water capsule is empty, the water in the nebulizer chamber can heat up to more than 70 °C
6.4.2.1
Quartz module with thermal shutdown (recommended)
If sterile water capsules are used, the use of a quartz module with thermal shutdown is recommended for safety
reasons. This can prevent the chamber and the sterile water capsule from being damaged. This also protects the
safety of the patient and the user, as they cannot get injured by the heated water.
After the quartz module has cooled down, the device is ready for use after approx. 10 minutes.
6.4.3
Nebulization from the disposable medication container
•
For nebulizing small quantities of medication.
Only use approved medication containers.
