Printer Driver for Macintosh

This chapter describes the procedures for installing and using a 
Macintosh printer driver.

8.1

Installing the Macintosh Printer Driver

Operating Environment

This section explains the minimum computer system requirements for a 
Macintosh printer driver. Before installing a printer driver, check to make 
sure that your Macintosh conforms to the minimum requirements. If it 
doesn't, the printer driver may not function properly.

Do not use an Ethernet cable of low quality: Defective printing could 
result.

Installing the Printer Driver under Mac OS 8/9

This section explains the installation procedure for the Macintosh printer 
driver on a Macintosh running Mac OS 8 or 9.

Note

For information about the procedure for installing the printer driver on 
a Mac OS X, refer to “Installing the Printer Driver under Mac OS X” on 
page 8-7.

The following procedure shows installation under Mac OS 9.2.2 and 
LaserWriter 8.7.1.
