1.
Loosen the bolts (1) (6 pieces) under the component box,
and open the cover (2).
2.
Place a container under the transmission filter (3) to catch
the drained oil.
3.
Remove the transmission filter plug (4) and drain the oil.
4.
After draining the oil, tighten the plug (4).
5.
Turn the transmission filter cartridge (3) counterclockwise
by using the nut (5) welded to the transmission filter car-
tridge (3) and remove it.
6.
Clean the filter head.
7.
Coat the seal surface and thread part of the new filter car-
tridge with clean transmission oil.
8.
Install the filter cartridge.
Tightening torque of cartridge: 25 to 35 Nm {2.56 to
3.56 kgm}
9.
Start the engine.
Run the engine at low idle for a while (1 minute or more).
10. Check that the oil level is correct by referring to “METHOD FOR CHECKING OIL LEVEL IN TRANSMIS-
SION CASE, ADDING OIL (4-23)”.
11. Check the transmission oil filter for oil leakage.
12. Close the cover and install it with the bolts.

WARNING
Do not open the cover while the engine is running. Stop the engine always when the checking is to be
performed.
Immediately after the engine is stopped, its parts and oil are still very hot and may cause burn injury.
Wait for the temperature to go down, and then start the work.
