In digging or scooping work, thrust the center of bucket into the
target material.
BUCKET DUMP OPERATION WHEN DIGGING
Do not operate the bucket to DUMP side during digging. If you operate the bucket to DUMP side during digging,
the machine cannot travel forward, the tires slip, and a large load is applied on the work equipment. Perform
scooping work as follows.
1.
Raise the boom slightly as soon as the bucket thrusts into the target materials.
Sufficient driving force works on the front wheels.
2.
While thrusting the bucket, repeat tilting back the bucket
and lifting the boom 2 to 3 times to fill the bucket.
When the bucket is close to its tilt end, operate the levers
slowly.
3.
When the bucket reaches its tilt end, depress the brake
pedal to stop the machine.
Do not press the bottom of bucket to the muck. If it is
pressed to the muck, the bucket, cylinders, or work equip-
ment may be damaged.
4.
After scooping, repeat the bucket TILT and DUMP opera-
tions or use the brake when driving the machine in reverse
to stabilize the load in the bucket in order to prevent the load from spilling out of the bucket.
REMARK
• To prevent the torque converter from overheating, complete the digging within 10 seconds from the begin-
ning of thrusting the bucket to the end of scooping.
• The machine consumes much fuel during digging work. Reducing the digging time is effective to reduce the
fuel consumption.
FRONT WHEEL RUNS ON BLASTED ROCKS
Do not run front wheels on the blasted rocks during the work. If
the front wheels is run on the blasted rocks, tires may be cut by
sharp edge of blasted rocks.
Take extreme care not to thrust the bucket excessively and not
to run front wheels on the natural ground that is not blasted.
Do not use wheel loaders but use bulldozers or hydraulic exca-
vators for scooping work near the natural ground.
