Replace the Battery
NOTE:
If replacing the sensor, adapt this procedure to install a
battery in the new sensor unit before installing the sensor.
Perform the following steps in order to replace the battery:
If required, remove the sensor from the cap as described in the

To Remove the DC Sensor

section.
Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws from
the back of the DC sensor.
Using a sharp edged screwdriver or knife, insert the tip of the
tool between the side of the DC sensor unit and the back cover at
the little white tab. Pry the back cover out and lift the cover off of
the DC sensor.
If necessary, use a small flat bladed screwdriver to pry the battery
from the DC sensor.
NOTE:
The lithium battery may be considered hazardous waste.
Discard the old battery in accordance with any applicable codes.
Remove and discard the old battery.
Align the new battery so that the metal poles on the battery will
contact the metal electrodes in the DC sensor.
Install the new battery in the DC sensor and push it into place
until it snaps over the side tab.
Replace the cover, pressing until it snaps into place on both sides.
