3.4.1.7 Hardware configuration
This is for the configurable in-and outputs.
The following functions can be set up here:
Digital input
Here you can select if you want to use this input for a
Airco switch or powershift input.
Further configuration can be done with the
Idle control
Analog Aux input
The analog input may be used to measure a variable
signal, the following types can connected:
- 5V, measuring 0
– 5 Volt.
- 15V, measuring 0
– 15 Volt.
- Variable A.L.S. (Anti Lag System) can be setup
under A.L.S.
- Variable Launch control and Gearposition can
be setup under RPM limiters and PowerShift .
- EGT, for connecting an analogue EGT kit with
display. This value can be used for fault
detection and switching an AUX (1 to 3) output.
Air pressure compensation
Mostly used for driving at higher altitudes, injection
times are compensated for the lesser oxygen available.
You can choose from three options here:
- Off , no compensation on air pressure
- External, using a 75-120kPa KMS pressure
sensor on the MAP input
- Internal, if available this can be selected to use
the ECU internal pressure sensor.
With the Air pressure compensation is set to active (External or Internal) the correction table for Air-
pressure in Mbar is active. See

Diagnostic output:
This is an option to check whether the lambda control is still active. When you attach the ground of a
diagnosti
c light to one of these aux’s, the light will go on when the lambda control is deactivated due to
error.
ALS output:
Select the required output for ALS. The maximum current through this output is 1A. See also section
A.L.S.
Oil pressure sensor:
The KMS oil pressure sensor is the 1010 kPa sensor (part number KSE.02.010) This sensor, and all
other types of pressure sensors, can be calibrated here by setting the offset and gain. See the KMS oil
pressure sensor 1010kpa manual for more information.
MAP sensor:
Any KMS MAP sensor may be used with the MA5.
Depending on the type used fill in the correct calibration values for 3.75V and 1.25V.
Values can be found in the documents supplied with the MAP sensor.
